SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 87
WHEREAS, Ray and Barbara Ingram will celebrate their 50th
wedding anniversary on April 30, 2006, when they will be honored
by the members of their family and large extended family; and
WHEREAS, The young couple first met Friday evening,
April 25, 1952, at a Sunday school class picnic at Dallas' Lake
Cliff Park, where Air Force Airman 2nd Class Ray was waiting to
borrow the car of his mother, Myrtle Ingram, who was the teacher
for Barbara's church class; and
WHEREAS, Ray and Barbara Ingram tied the knot almost
exactly four years later on April 20, 1956, at the First Baptist
Church of Oak Cliff; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Ingram retired in 1987 as a bookkeeper for
communications industries after 25 years of service; and
WHEREAS, Ray Ingram retired in 1987 after 30 years of
employment with Safeway Stores, where he served in the position
of store manager for six years; and
WHEREAS, Ray and Barbara Ingram have both lived in
Dallas County for well over 50 years; and
WHEREAS, Ray and Barbara Ingram take justifiable pride in
their family, which includes their sons, Ray Ingram, Jr., and
Leonard Ingram, their daughter, Larissa Ingram, their eleven
grandchildren, Michael Ingram, Jana Rodgers, Jennifer Riley, the
late Adam Riley, Jennifer Ingram, Allison Ingram, Nicholas Fuller,
Morgan Fuller, Brittany Fuller, Danny Ingram, and Meagan Doss,
and their great-grandson, Bradley Rodgers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Ray
and Barbara Ingram on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend
to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Mr. and Mrs. Ingram as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
