SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 117
In Memory
of
Jacqueline May Schnittker
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of Plano in mourning the loss of Jacqueline May Schnittker, who
died April 24, 2006, at the age of 75; and
WHEREAS, Born May 3, 1930, in Sandusky, Ohio,
Jackie Schnittker was the only child of Joseph Allen and
Bessie Bender Allen; as both her parents were deaf, Jackie grew
up signing and interpreting for the deaf; and
WHEREAS, Jackie attended The Ohio State University and
worked as a teacher; she married the late Lyle Gene Schnittker on
April 17, 1954; and
WHEREAS, The family moved to Plano in 1972, and there
Jackie dedicated herself to raising her children; she later
showed that same dedication for more than three decades in
working for the political community of Collin County; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Schnittker was a caring and generous woman
who enriched the lives of all who knew her with her love and
compassion, her warmth and kindness, and her enthusiasm for
living each day to the fullest; and
WHEREAS, She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she
leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her
family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
condolences to the bereaved family of Jacqueline May Schnittker:
her sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Patty Schnittker and Mike
and Shelley Schnittker; her daughter and son-in-law, Nancye and
David Spears; and her seven grandchildren; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
in memory of Jacqueline May Schnittker.
