SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 122
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Adolfo E. Gutierrez, who is being inducted as a laureate into the 2006 Laredo Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of Laredo; and WHEREAS, Junior Achievement of Laredo annually honors the most esteemed leaders of business and free enterprise in the greater Laredo area; and WHEREAS, Raised and educated in Laredo, Adolfo acquired his entrepreneurial spirit at an early age while working for his father; following his graduation from Texas A&M University, Adolfo returned to Laredo and operated an auto sales facility; at 21 years of age he opened 3-G Electrical Supply and later expanded the company into Mexico; he then opened Showcase Lighting by 3-G and established 3-G Business Systems; and WHEREAS, In 1995, Adolfo joined Falcon National Bank as president and chief executive officer; under his leadership, the bank grew from $52.8 million in assets to over $500 million; the bank is now Falcon International Bank and has 15 distribution points; and WHEREAS, A highly respected businessman and leader in the Laredo community, Adolfo has contributed his time and energy to numerous civic activities and to such organizations as the March of Dimes, the Rotary Club, and the Salvation Army, and he deserves recognition for his wide-ranging achievements; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Adolfo E. Gutierrez for his many contributions to the Laredo community and extend congratulations to him on his induction into the 2006 Laredo Business Hall of Fame; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
