SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 141

	WHEREAS, Many years ago, Troy and Marylin O'Daniel placed 
great faith and trust in the future, and they have been amply 
rewarded, for they are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary
on May 15; and
	WHEREAS, Native Texan Troy O'Daniel was born in Waxahachie 
and was one of 13 children; when he was a teenager, he set out on 
his own and eventually joined the air force; and
	WHEREAS, He was en route from Anchorage, Alaska, to his 
next military assignment when he met Marylin in Tacoma, Washington;
the couple were married 10 days later, on May 15, 1956, and then 
journeyed together to Ohio for Troy's next assignment; after 
Troy's military service, the couple made their home in Waxahachie,
where they raised their family; and 
	WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the 
years of their marriage, yet Troy and Marylin have cherished 
traditional family values; they have grown stronger in their
love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys
and sorrows of everyday living; and
	WHEREAS, They are beloved by their children, Patsy, 
Lavonda, Billy, and Robert, and their eight grandchildren and 
three great-grandchildren are a source of much pride and joy;
and
	WHEREAS, The couple retired near Aquilla, in rural
Hill County, where they live in the home Troy built for them; on 
May 20, their family and friends will join them to celebrate 
their anniversary and share the memories of their wonderful life 
together; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate
Mr. and Mrs. Troy O'Daniel on their golden wedding anniversary 
and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in 
their lives.
