SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 169

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Maria Silguero, who was recently honored by the
Corpus Christi City Council for her outstanding volunteer 
efforts as part of the National Volunteer Week; and

	WHEREAS, Mrs. Silguero is a member of the city's Retired 
and Senior Volunteer Program; volunteers in this program 
contribute thousands of hours annually to the community; and

	WHEREAS, Maria enrolled in the program in 1977; for the 
last 28 years she has prepared and packed meals for delivery at 
the Robstown Senior Center; and

	WHEREAS, Maria embodies the spirit of volunteerism; at 93 
years of age she continues to work for the public good, and she 
deserves recognition for her service to the community; now, 
therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend
Maria Silguero for her outstanding work on behalf of the Robstown 
Senior Center; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
