SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 170

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Marie Partington, who was recently honored by the 
Corpus Christi City Council for her outstanding volunteer 
efforts as part of the National Volunteer Week; and

	WHEREAS, Marie Partington is a member of the city's Retired 
and Senior Volunteer Program; volunteers in this program 
contribute thousands of hours annually to the community; and

	WHEREAS, She has offered her services to the Senior 
Companion Program for 16 years; her boundless energy and her 
dedicated work on behalf of the program's clients exemplify the 
spirit of volunteerism; and

	WHEREAS, Marie Partington began a life of service in the 
medical corps during the Korean War, and at 83 years of age she 
continues to help others, a true testament to her goodwill and 
generosity; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend
Marie Partington for her exemplary service to her community 
through her volunteer efforts with the Senior Companion Program; 
and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
