SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 171
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Roger "Red" Frank, Jr., who was recently honored
before the Corpus Christi City Council for his outstanding
volunteer work as part of the National Volunteer Week; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Frank exhibits outstanding community
leadership through his volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, He is a member of the city's Retired and Senior
Volunteer Program; volunteers in this program contribute
thousands of hours annually to the community; and
WHEREAS, A longtime educator, Red Frank knows the value
of and supports public television and has volunteered with
KEDT-TV, Corpus Christi's public television station, since
1990; he works in the station's lending library, loaning out
thousands of educational programs every year; and
WHEREAS, At 85 years of age, Mr. Frank continues to
work for the public good, and he embodies the true spirit of
volunteerism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend
Roger "Red" Frank, Jr., for his exemplary service to his
community through his volunteer efforts with KEDT-TV; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
