SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 172

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased 
to recognize Ignacio Acuna, who was recently honored by the 
Corpus Christi City Council for his outstanding volunteer 
efforts as part of the National Volunteer Week; and

	WHEREAS, A participant in the Retired and Senior Volunteer 
Program, Mr. Acuna volunteers at the Zavala Senior Center; he has 
tallied tens of thousands of meals that were served at the center 
over the past 32 years; and

	WHEREAS, The members of the city's Retired and Senior 
Volunteer Program contribute thousands of hours annually to the 
community; at 100 years of age Mr. Acuna is the oldest active 
volunteer enrolled in the program; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Ignacio Acuna
for his exemplary service to his community through his volunteer 
efforts at the Zavala Senior Center; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
