SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 211

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the Lake Country Christian School Eagles, who recently 
won the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 
3A boys' basketball state championship title; and
	WHEREAS, The Eagles were victorious in their first 
appearance at the state finals, defeating Beaumont Cathedral by a 
score of 70-57; and
	WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great 
talent throughout the school year, ending the season with a 32-4 
record; team members Aaron Bennett, John Bernal, Seth McCarley, 
Casey Meisinger, Josh Milstein, Luke Mitchell, Colin Nelson, 
David Peterson, Jeremy Scott, Jon Scott, Heath Scott, and
Chase Truitt can take great pride in their outstanding 
performance; and
	WHEREAS, Seniors Heath Scott and Casey Meisinger and 
junior Luke Mitchell were named to the All-Tournament team; and
	WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of 
coaches Tom Etchison and Lee Newton and with the assistance and 
support of manager Trent Scott, the Eagles have developed 
exceptional teamwork and discipline; and
	WHEREAS, Lake Country Christian School and the City of Fort Worth
are proud of the Eagles for their hard work, their impressive 
skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the Lake 
Country Christian School Eagles boys' basketball team for its 
successful season and extend congratulations on winning the 
Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 3A state 
championship title; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
