SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 214
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Miriam Panzer, a kindergarten teacher at Galindo
Elementary School in Austin, for her dedication to the teaching
profession; and
WHEREAS, Miriam has devoted 31 years to teaching
kindergarten in the Austin Independent School District; after
graduating from The University of Texas at Austin she fulfilled
her lifelong ambition to become a teacher and began her career
teaching kindergarten at Saint Elmo Elementary School in the
Austin Independent School District; she taught at Saint Elmo for
15 years and then transferred to Galindo Elementary School, where
she has taught for the past 16 years; and
WHEREAS, The week of May 7 through May 13, 2006, is Teacher
Appreciation Week, and it is a fitting occasion to pay tribute to
Miriam Panzer and all of the excellent educators in Texas for the
wonderful contributions they make to the education, growth, and
development of the children in our state; and
WHEREAS, Miriam is a dedicated teacher whose resourceful
teaching methods have had a positive impact on the lives of many
students, and she is an outstanding representative of this
state's many wonderful teachers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Miriam Panzer for
her excellence as a teacher and for her dedication to preparing her
students for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Miriam Panzer as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
