SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 243
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Colonel Geoffrey C. Morrison on the occasion of his retirement from the United States Air Force; and WHEREAS, Colonel Morrison is currently commander of the Air Force Reserve Command's 433rd Medical Group at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio; for 27 years he has served the nation with distinction, earning the respect and admiration of both his fellow officers and the men and women serving under him; he will retire on June 1, 2006; and WHEREAS, Colonel Morrison began his career in 1975 as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at Texas Tech University; over the years, he has held numerous vital positions, including Health Services Administrator, 11th Contingency Hospital at Lackland Air Force Base, and Health Services Administrator, 870th United States Air Force Contingency Hospital at the Royal Air Force Base at Little Rissington, United Kingdom; and WHEREAS, Colonel Morrison earned many awards and decorations during his service to his country, including the Meritorious Service Medal with one device, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; he deserves to be recognized and honored for his years of service to his country; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Colonel Geoffrey C. Morrison for his years of loyal service to the nation with the United States Air Force and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
