SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 255
In Memory
of
Joe V. Alderete
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
commemorates the life of Joe V. Alderete, who died April 29, 2006,
at the age of 96; and
WHEREAS, Joe Alderete was born on April 24, 1910, to
Guadalupe and Severa Alderete; he valiantly served on the front
line in the United States Army during World War II; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Alderete was a longtime employee of Missouri
Pacific Railroad; he retired after 47 years of loyal service with
the company; and
WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
condolences to the family of Joe V. Alderete: his wife,
Victoria; his sons and daughter-in-law, Joe V. Alderete, Jr., and
Chris, Arthur V. Alderete, and Alvin V. Alderete; his daughter
and son-in-law, Gloria Alderete Segovia and Rudy Segovia; his
sister, Delfina "Sweety" Rosales; and his 14 grandchildren and
eight great-grandchildren; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
do so in memory of Joe V. Alderete.
