SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 260
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Laredo Bucks, who have won the 2006 Central Hockey
League President's Cup championship; and
WHEREAS, The Bucks were victorious in their third
consecutive trip to the President's Cup finals, defeating
Bossier-Shreveport four games to one; and
WHEREAS, This international roster of athletes has
demonstrated great talent and perseverance throughout the year,
finishing the regular season with a record of 43-15-6 and
dominating their playoff opponents with a 12-4 record; and
WHEREAS, The Bucks' supporters were a major part of their
success; attendance averaged over 5,200 during the season, and
the fans were acknowledged as among the best in the league; and
WHEREAS, The Bucks have developed exceptional teamwork and
discipline under the superior leadership and direction of head
coach Terry Ruskowski, who was named 2005-2006 Central Hockey
League Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, The City of Laredo is proud of the Bucks for their
hard work and their impressive skills; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the
Laredo Bucks for their successful season and extend
congratulations to them on winning the 2006 President's Cup;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
