The bill would appropriate $640,226 to the Comptroller of Public Accounts to pay for the judgment awarded in Patricia King v. Department of Criminal Justice, et al., on November 20, 2000.
The bill would take effect immediately upon enactment, assuming that it received the requisite two-thirds majority votes in both houses of the Legislature. Otherwise, it would take effect on 91st day after the last day of the legislative session.
The appropriation to the Comptroller of Public Accounts of $640,226 would be from the General Revenue Fund in FY 2006.
This analysis assumes immediate effect.
