Amend Floor Amendment No. 3 to CSHB 955 by adding the 
following appropriately numbered item to the amendment:
	(__)  Add the following appropriately numbered SECTION to 
the bill and renumber subsequent SECTIONS accordingly:
	SECTION __.  The change in law made by Section 35.62(e), 
Business & Commerce Code, as added by this Act, applies only to a 
request for a social security number that is made on or after 
September 1, 2006.  A request made before September 1, 2006, is 
governed by the law as it existed immediately before the effective 
date of this Act, and the former law is continued in effect for that 
purpose.
