Amend HB 1252 (Senate committee printing) as follows:                        
	(1)  Strike the recital to SECTION 1 of the bill (page 1, 
lines 11 through 12) and substitute "Section 533.009, Government 
Code, is amended by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection 
(f) to read as follows:".
	(2)  In SECTION 1 of the bill, immediately following amended 
Section 533.009(a), Government Code (page 1, between lines 21 and 
22), insert the following:
	(f)  If a managed care organization implements a special 
disease management program to manage chronic kidney disease and its 
medical complications as provided by Subsection (a) and the managed 
care organization develops a program to provide screening for and 
diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease and its medical 
complications to recipients under the organization's managed care 
plan, the program for screening, diagnosis, and treatment must use 
generally recognized clinical practice guidelines and laboratory 
assessments that identify chronic kidney disease on the basis of 
impaired kidney function or the presence of kidney damage.
	(3)  In SECTION 3 of the bill, in added Subsection (a), 
Section 32.069, Human Resources Code (page 1, line 39), strike 
"(a)".
	(4)  In SECTION 3 of the bill, strike added Subsections (b) 
and (c), Section 32.069, Human Resources Code (page 1, line 48, 
through page 2, line 3).
	(5)  In SECTION 4 of the bill (page 2, line 8), between 
"program" and the period, insert "or between the commission and a 
managed care organization under the medical assistance program, as 
applicable".
