Amend HB 1483 (house committee report) as follows:
(1) On page 1, line 9, between "order." and "Checks", insert "A person who pays a fee required by this subchapter by cash must
pay the fee in person.".
(2) On page 1, line 11, between "department]."" and "A",
insert "A person whose payment for a fee required by this subchapter
is dishonored or reversed must pay any future fees required by this
subchapter by cashier's check or money order made payable to the
"Texas Department of Public Safety."".
(3) On page 2, strike lines 24-25 and substitute "SECTION 3.
Section 411.181, Government Code, is amended by amending Subsection
(d) and adding Subsection (i) to read as follows:".
(4) On page 2, immediately after line 27, at the end of
amended Section 411.181(d), Government Code, insert the following
new subsection:
(i) A license holder whose application fee for a duplicate
license under this section is dishonored or reversed may reapply
for a duplicate license at any time, provided the application fee
and a dishonored payment charge of $25 is paid by cashier's check or
money order made payable to the "Texas Department of Public
Safety."
(5) On page 3, strike lines 1-2 and substitute "SECTION 4.
Section 411.184, Government Code, is amended by amending Subsection
(a) and adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:".
(6) On page 3, between lines 19 and 20, insert the following
new subsection:
(e) A license holder whose application fee for a modified
license under this section is dishonored or reversed may reapply
for a modified license at any time, provided the application fee and
a dishonored payment charge of $25 is paid by cashier's check or
money order made payable to the "Texas Department of Public
Safety."
(7) On page 3, line 21, between "for" and "license", strike
"a" and substitute "an original, renewed, duplicate, or modified".
