Amend HB 1601 (Senate committee printing) in SECTION 1 of the 
bill, in proposed Subsection (a-1), Article 38.30, Code of Criminal 
Procedure (page 1, lines 34-36), by striking "In this subsection, 
"qualified telephone interpreter" means a telephone service that 
employs licensed court interpreters as defined by Section 57.001, 
Government Code." and substituting the following:

In this subsection, "qualified telephone interpreter" means a 
telephone service that employs:
		(1)  licensed court interpreters as defined by Section 
57.001, Government Code; or
		(2)  federally certified court interpreters.
