Amend CSSB 988 as follows:                                                   
	1.)  On Page 3, Line 14, strike language beginning after "or 
related trade associations." and replace with the following:
	The finance commission shall approve any education course 
approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission, the Mortgage Bankers 
Association of America, or the National Association of Mortgage 
Brokers.
		(1) The finance commission shall adopt a rule that 
requires a mortgage broker or loan officer to attend, during the 
term of the current license, not less than eight hours of continuing 
education courses related to residential mortgage lending before 
renewing a license under this section.
