AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Most military training courses meet or exceed the standards colleges and universities require for academic credit.  Many colleges and universities are currently offering academic credit for relevant military training, but there is no current law that addresses this issue.

H.B. 133  requires that colleges and universities accept military training for academic credit, provided that the training satisfies the requirements for the college course and an official record of the successful completion of the relevant training is provided to the institution of higher education.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
