                                                                                                       Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Any person at least twelve years old who hunts in Texas must successfully complete a mandatory hunter education training course if the person was born on or after Sept. 2, 1971.  H.B. 552 would exempt a person from the hunter education requirement if the person is an active duty member of the United States military forces or was honorably discharged from the United States military forces.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.
