AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

H.B. 747 designates the parts of State Highways 7, 21, and 103, United States Highway 290, and Interstate 10 that follow the route of the El Camino Real de los Tejas from Pendleton to El Paso as the El Camino East/West Corridor. 

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, by adding Section 225.0401, as follows:

 

            Sec. 225.0401.  EL CAMINO EAST/WEST CORRIDOR. (a) Designates the parts of State Highways 7, 21, and 103, United States Highway 290, and Interstate Highway 10 that follow the route of the El Camino Real de los Tejas from Pendleton to El Paso as the El Camino East/West Corridor. 

 

                        (b) Requires the Texas Department of Transportation (department), to the extent the El Camino East/West Commission reimburses the department for the department's costs, to design, construct, and erect certain markers along the El Camino East/West Corridor. 

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2005.
