AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

H.B. 860 changes the name of a state charitable program, the Adopt-A-Map/Adopt-A-Document Program, to the Save Texas History program, and adds the Adopt-A-Beach program to the list of eligible state employee charitable programs.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 31.0655, Natural Resources Code, to replace references to the Adopt-A-Map/Adopt-A-Document Program with the Save Texas History and Adopt-A-Beach programs.

 

SECTION 2.  Authorizes the General Land Office (GLO) to transfer any money contributed to the GLO for the Adopt-A-Map/Adopt-A-Document Program to the Save Texas History and Adopt-A-Beach programs.

 

SECTION 3.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2005.
