AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

The 87th Judicial District hears approximately 90 percent of all juvenile cases in Leon County.  However, the juvenile board is currently composed of judges from the 12th and 278th Judicial Districts as well as the county judge of Leon County.  H.B. 956  adds the judge of the 87th Judicial District to the Juvenile Board of Leon County. 

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 152.1511(a), Human Resources Code, to provide that the juvenile board of Leon County is composed of the county judge and the judges of the 12th, 87th, and 278th Judicial Districts. 

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2005.
