Juvenile Justice & Family Issues
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
The 87th Judicial District hears approximately 90% of all juvenile cases in Leon County. However, the juvenile board is currently composed of judges from the 12th and 278th Judicial Districts as well as the county judge.
House Bill 956 would add the judge of the 87th Judicial District to the Juvenile Board of Leon County.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.
