                                                                                                       Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Texas law currently gives the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission the ability to waive or lower fees on hunting and fishing licenses for certain people.  As a token of appreciation to military service members serving on active duty, H.B. 1076 allows the Parks and Wildlife Commission to set a lower resident hunting or fishing license fee, or waive the fee or license requirement for a resident serving on active duty as a member of the United States military forces.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.
