BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Currently Spur 330 in Harris County, Texas stretches from Interstate 10 to State Highway 146.  CSHB 1136 would rename Spur 330 to Veterans Memorial Highway.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.

            Renames Spur 330 to Veterans Memorial Highway, and provides for the appropriate         markers.

SECTION 2.

            Sets effective date.

EFFECTIVE DATE

September 1, 2005.

COMPARISON OF ORIGINAL TO SUBSTITUTE

Subsections (d) and (e) are added to the substitute to ensure that the Texas Department of Transportation is not required to design, construct, or erect a marker unless a grant or donation of private funds is made to the department to cover the costs and deposited in the state highway fund.
