AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Currently, the Texas Industrial Fire Training Board (board) serves as an advisory board to the State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas.  The name of the board is not inclusive of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel or other emergency personnel, but only includes members of a fire brigade.  The board recommended that the name be changed to the Texas Industrial Emergency Service Board to better reflect the make-up of the board and its membership.  The name change was approved at the 2003 State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association Training Conference and Convention.

H.B. 1267 makes the necessary statutory changes to reflect the new name.
