BILL ANALYSIS
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
Under current law, the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Appeals District can only meet in the city of Eastland. This provides many transportation problems for people in the district. This bill seeks to change the current statute to allow the court to meet in the City of Eastland or in any county in the district.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution.
ANALYSIS
The bill amends Section 22.212, Government Code, to add a new subsection (c) which provides that the court may transact business in the City of Eastland or in any county in the district as the court determines is necessary or convenient.
