AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Currently state law is contradictory concerning the reimbursement of travel expenses for members of the Texas Military Facilities Commission.  It allows for reimbursement of expenses for commission-related travel, but not for meals, lodging, and other expenses related to commission duties.  Originally, this made sense because all members were in the military and received travel pay from the military while on commission-related trips.  However, this is no longer the case.

H.B. 2336 updates the law to allow for the reimbursement of all travel-related expenses for commission members, including meals, lodging, transportation, and other incidental expenses.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
