BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Currently there is no restriction on billboard advertising on State Highway 130.  H.B. 2658 adds State Highway 130 to the list of roadways in Texas that prohibit certain off-premise signs.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

ANALYSIS

H.B. 2658 amends Section 391.252(a) of the Transportation Code by adding  Subsection (14).  Subsection (14) adds State Highway 130 to the list of highways upon which certain off-premise signs are prohibited.

EFFECTIVE DATE

September 1, 2005.
