AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

H.B. 3269 requires the Texas Historical Commission (commission), in cooperation with the National Park Service, to administer and coordinate the efforts of state and local public and private entities in the state regarding the preservation of El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail.  H.B. 3269 also requires the commission to develop educational and interpretative programs relating to El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Chapter 442, Government Code, by adding Section 442.021, as follows:

 

Sec. 442.021.  EL CAMINO REAL DE LOS TEJAS NATIONAL HISTORIC TRAIL.  Requires the Texas Historical Commission (commission), in cooperation with the National Park Service, to administer and coordinate the efforts of state and local public and private entities in this state regarding the preservation of El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail.  Requires the commission to develop educational and interpretative programs relating to El Camino Real de los Tejas National  Historic Trail. 

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date:  upon passage or September 1, 2005.
