AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

Currently, the Comal County Juvenile Board (board) has five members, including the county judge, the judge of the 207th District Court, an additional district court judge having jurisdiction in Comal County, the local administrative statutory county court judge, and the criminal district attorney for Comal County.

 

Last session, a second county court at law was created.  H.B. 3515 changes the composition of the board to include both judges of the county courts at law in Comal County.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 152.0521(a), Human Resources Code, to include the judge of each county court at law in the composition of the Comal County Juvenile Board.

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2005.
