AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Currently, Texas is in need of statewide leadership and coordination on indigent health care programs.  C.S.S.B. 44 restores the Indigent Health Care Advisory Committee (committee) which was repealed by H.B. 2292, 78th Legislature, by incorporating it in statute.  The committee would allow appointed representatives to advise the executive commissioner of Health and Human Services on rules and policies concerning indigent health care services.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This act does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
