AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Current law limits the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) annual financial participation in toll facilities to $800 million.  As proposed, S.B. 323 repeals the cap on toll equity to provide TxDOT the ability to leverage limited financial resources to address mobility issues in Texas.  

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Repealer: Section 222.103(h) (relating to limits on the amount of money granted each fiscal year under this section (Cost Participation) by the Texas Department of Transportation), Transportation Code.  

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2005.
