AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Brazoria County has experienced great population growth and is in need of a new court to handle the case load.  As proposed, S.B. 324 creates a new district court for Brazoria County.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Subchapter C, Chapter 24, Government Code, by adding Section 24.556, as follows:

Sec. 24.556.  412TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (BRAZORIA COUNTY).  Provides that the 412th Judicial District is composed of Brazoria County.

SECTION 2.  Creates the 412th Judicial District on the effective date of this Act.

SECTION 3.  Effective date: September 1, 2005.
