Current law does not specifically include among the goals and methods for violence prevention and intervention on campuses provisions which include ongoing, research-based teacher development programs that focus on developing healthy self-esteem in students and creating a nurturing environment in the classroom. Furthermore, current law does not specifically include provisions for parental involvement which include research-based classes and training in nurturing and providing positive discipline to a child.
