AUTHOR'S/SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

C.S.S.B. 1579 allows billboards to be erected on U.S. Highway 281 between Interstate Highway 37 and Farm-to-Market Road 3162.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 391.252(a) Transportation Code, to prohibit a person from erecting an off-premises sign that is adjacent to and visible from U.S. Highway 281 between State Highway 186 and Farm-to-Market Road 3162, rather than Interstate Highway 37.  Deletes existing text relating to the effective date of this subchapter.    

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: September 1, 2005.
