A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the issuance of a permit to dispense contact lenses to 
certain business entities.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 353.052(b), Occupations Code, is amended 
to read as follows:
	(b)  A business entity that has more than one location [at 
least 10 locations] may obtain a single permit for the entity and 
its employees.  An employee of an entity with a permit under this 
subsection is not required to obtain a separate permit.
	SECTION 2.  The change in law made by this Act applies to a 
business entity that applies for a contact lens dispensing permit 
or for renewal of a contact lens dispensing permit on or after the 
effective date of this Act.  A business entity that holds more than 
one contact lens dispensing permit under Section 353.052(b), 
Occupations Code, as that section existed before the effective date 
of this Act, may renew only one of the permits as the permits expire 
on and after that date.
	SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
