A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the disclosure of certain information from an early 
voting roster; providing a penalty.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 87.121(f), Election Code, is amended to 
read as follows: 
	(f)  Information on the roster for a person to whom an early 
voting mail ballot has been sent may [is] not be disclosed
[available for public inspection], except to the voter seeking to 
verify that the information pertaining to the voter is accurate, 
until the first business day after election day.  A person who 
violates this subsection commits an offense.  An offense under this 
subsection is a Class C misdemeanor.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
