A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to naming the circle drive around the State Capitol the George W. Bush Circle. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Chapter 443, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 443.0154 as follows: Sec. 443.0154. GEORGE W. BUSH CIRCLE. (a) The semicircular drive around the State Capitol between Congress Avenue at 11th Street and North Congress Avenue at 15th Street is designated the George W. Bush Circle. (b) The board shall design and construct markers indicating the George W. Bush Circle and any other appropriate information. (c) The board shall erect a marker at each end of the George W. Bush Circle and at appropriate intermediate sites along the circle. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
