A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to regulation of long-term care benefit plans.                       
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 1651.001, Insurance Code, as effective 
April 1, 2005, is amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as 
follows:
	(c)  This chapter applies to a long-term care benefit plan 
regardless of the date on which the plan was originally delivered or 
issued for delivery.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
