A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to fees charged a person entitled to more than one type of 
military specialty license plate.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, 
is amended by adding Section 504.3015 to read as follows:
	Sec. 504.3015.  PERSON ENTITLED TO TWO OR MORE TYPES OF 
LICENSE PLATES.  (a)  Notwithstanding any other provision of this 
chapter, a person who is entitled to receive two or more types of 
specialty license plates issued under Sections 504.202 and 504.315 
is entitled to receive two sets of the same type of plates and to 
register, for the person's own use, two vehicles without payment of 
any fee paid for or at the time of registration except the fee for 
the plates under Subsection (b).
	(b)  The fee for issuance of the license plates is:                     
		(1)  $3 each for the first two sets of license plates; 
and           
		(2)  $15 for each additional set of the same type of 
license plates. 
	(c)  This section does not affect the person's right to 
register a vehicle and receive specialty license plates to which 
the person is entitled as otherwise provided by the applicable 
provisions of this chapter.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this 
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 
Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
