A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the provision of notary public service at certain 
housing developments.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Subchapter L, Chapter 2306, Government Code, is 
amended by adding Section 2306.274 to read as follows:
	Sec. 2306.274.  NOTARY PUBLIC SERVICE.  The department shall 
require a housing sponsor of a multifamily rental housing 
development with 100 or more living units to provide notary public 
service to the residents of the housing development.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
