A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT


relating to the other events trust fund established to support 
local efforts to recruit or retain certain sports events.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Subsection (a)(2), Section 5A, Chapter 1507, 
Acts of the 76th Legislature, Regular Session, 1999 (Article 
5190.14, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), is amended to read as 
follows:
		(2)  "Endorsing Municipality" means a municipality 
[that has a population of one million or more and] that contains a 
site selected by a site selection organization for one or more 
games.
	SECTION 2.  Section 5A(q), Chapter 1507, Acts of the 76th 
Legislature, Regular Session, 1999 (Article 5190.14, Vernon's 
Texas Civil Statutes), is repealed.
	SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
