A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to requirements for software for electronic filing with 
the Texas Ethics Commission.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 571.0671, Government Code, is amended by 
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
	(d)  Subject to available funds, the commission shall 
provide or approve computer software under this section that is 
compatible with at least two computer platforms. In selecting the 
computer platforms, the commission shall consider requests made to 
the commission for computer compatibility and the platforms most 
used by persons who make filings under Section 254.036(b), Election 
Code, and Sections 302.013 and 305.0064.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
