A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to certain obsolete documents issued in connection with
the licensing of drivers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 521.054(b), Transportation Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(b) A person subject to this section shall notify the
department of the change not later than the 30th day after the date
on which the change takes effect and[, except as provided by
Subsection (d), shall] apply for a duplicate license or certificate
as provided by Section 521.146.
SECTION 2. Section 521.424, Transportation Code, is amended
to read as follows:
Sec. 521.424. DUPLICATE LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE FEE. [(a)]
The fee for a duplicate driver's license or duplicate personal
identification certificate is $10.
[(b) The fee for a duplicate disability certificate or
duplicate health condition certificate is $5.]
SECTION 3. The following provisions of the Transportation
Code are repealed:
(1) Sections 521.054(d), (e), and (f);
(2) Section 521.102; and
(3) Section 521.423.
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
