A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the exemption of certain projects from rules relating 
to asbestos abatement.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 1954.060(c), Occupations Code, is 
repealed.              
	SECTION 2.  A demolition or renovation project that is in 
progress on September 1, 2005, and that immediately before that 
date is exempt from the rules adopted under Section 1954.060, 
Occupations Code, in accordance with Section 1954.060(c), 
Occupations Code, as it existed before its repeal by this Act, 
continues to be exempt as long as the project continues to comply 
with the requirements for obtaining that exemption as they existed 
immediately before September 1, 2005.
	SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
