A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to requiring the Texas Department of Transportation to place a sign on the approach to each toll booth on certain turnpikes that describes the improvements the department has made or proposes to make using revenue collected for use of the turnpike. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 361, Transportation Code, is amended by adding Section 361.239 to read as follows: Sec. 361.239. TOLL REVENUE INFORMATIONAL SIGNS ON CONVERTED HIGHWAYS. The department shall place an informational sign, readable to passing motorists, on the approach to each toll booth on a highway converted to a turnpike under Section 362.0041 that identifies the specific improvements the department has made or proposes to make using revenue collected for use of the turnpike. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
