A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to fees paid by persons 65 years of age or older for
certain hunting and fishing privileges.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 11, Parks and Wildlife
Code, is amended by adding Section 11.0273 to read as follows:
Sec. 11.0273. LIMIT ON FEES CHARGED TO CERTAIN PERSONS.
Notwithstanding any other law, in setting the amounts of fees
authorized by this code, the commission may not require a person who
is 65 years of age or older on the date the person obtains a
noncommercial hunting or fishing license, stamp, tag, permit, or
similar document conferring hunting or fishing privileges on the
person to pay a fee that is greater than the fee that a person who
was 65 years of age or older on September 1, 2004, would have paid
for that same license, stamp, tag, permit, or similar document.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
